Mr. Rasim Qureshi possesses an extensive 26-year tenure in the chemical, petrochemical, oil refining, and EPC sectors, specializing in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) expertise. His professional trajectory has been characterized by a deep-seated passion for process safety, technical safety, design HSE, fire engineering, and commissioning/decommissioning of projects, including construction safety. Through his affiliations with multinational corporations such as Exxon, SABIC, ADNOC, Qatar Petroleum, Amazon and SNC Lavalin, Mr. Qureshi has garnered a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices, leveraging mature systems to inform his expertise.

The diverse array of experiences accumulated by Mr. Qureshi throughout his career has equipped him with the ability to drive performance enhancements and effect significant improvements in HSSE and process safety programs. His professional engagements have spanned a broad spectrum of cultural contexts, including North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, demonstrating his capacity to integrate and effectively orchestrate collaborative efforts with diverse cultural groups. Mr. Qureshi’s technical expertise encompasses a wide range of HSSE disciplines, including safety engineering, OSHA and CCPS Process Safety Management, HAZID, HSEMS, consequence analysis, HSEIA, COMAH, HAZOP Analytics, LOPA, SIL, OHRA, and API-based Process Safety KPIs. He is well-versed in relevant industry standards, including OSHA, API, IEC, and NFPA. His professional assignments have been situated in USA, Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, primarily within the oil and gas sector, with a focus on facilities such as ammonia, utilities, polypropylene, ethylene, ethylene oxide, PVC, chlorine, EDC-VCM, refineries, hydrocrackers, and power plants.

In addition to his technical expertise, Mr. Qureshi has provided HSSE and process safety support to engineering teams during the Pre-FEED, FEED, construction, and detailed engineering phases of SAGD and oil & gas projects, as well as liquid Hydrogen, Fuel cell technology, hydrogen electrolyzers, LNG and LPG facilities. He is also part of the technical committees for National Fire Protection association NFPA 30, NFPA 496/497/499 and CSA Z767 Canadian process safety standard. He has successfully leveraged his vision for HSE excellence by adopting advanced tools to optimize risk management, budgetary considerations, and operability, driving results for high-reliability organizations worldwide. He is the representative of Bahrain in the international technical committee ISO\TC176 and ISO\TC279 (Innovation Management), with more than 20 years of career experience in engineering and management.

He worked as the Chief of QHSE Management in the Ministry of Works Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning in the Kingdom of Bahrain (10 years), a Senior Inspector in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for (6 years). Part of his duty consists of Monitoring, assessing, and inspecting industries in the Kingdom of Bahrain and GCC countries.
Coming from industrial background with more than (5 years) of experience as a Chemical Engineer in Petrochemical and Aluminium Industries. It supported him to be an International Inspector for products, Quality, Standards, Health, and safety requirements. He was appointed to represent Bahrain in many safety and quality audit visits overseas in China, Japan, Europe, Africa, and India.

He has been elected as the Head of Standards and Technical Regulations Committee in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) (2007-2010). Besides, he has been appointed as the Head of the National Committee to review the ISO 26000 (2008-2010). And in 2006, he was appointed as the Head of the National Committee of Chemical and Mechanical products Standards.
